"It has begun!"
- Mortal Kombat
There are a lot of very bad films in the world, ranging from the simply poor to the out-and-out appalling; from the extremely dull to the unintentionally hilarious. I have probably seen rather more of these films than is strictly healthy, and I keep coming back for more. I'm a film nut, and a part of that is a relentless optimism; a stubborn refusal to give up on the tainted dream factory. When the next big thing arrives at the cinema, I go, face shining with childlike hope, often to be disappointed. I spend hours walking around Blockbuster Video, searching - often in vain - for the one good movie that I know must be in there.
In the pursuit of the excellent, one must accept however that one will see some - or in my case, a lot of - shite. It is inevitable. This page is my own personal tribute to all of the men and women who have ever dedicated their time and effort to the creation of a turkey. I also like to think that it might serve as a warning to those thinking of watching a DTV or tele-movie to never underestimate how bad these films can really be.
Welcome to my Mecca. Heed the lessons of our experience, and go in peace.
It has been a while since there was anything new on the Bad Movie Mecca, but here it is: The Da Vinci Code Relaunch Special.
BMM Trivia File - The Da Vinci Code has received a rating of 64%; the same rating earned by the first ever film reviewed, the equally commercial Phantom Menace.
If you have a bad movie experience that you'd like to share, look at the submission guidelines, and email your review to The Prophet.
